Vision and Mission
Azerbaijan  Export  and  Investment  Promotion  Foundation 
(AZPROMO) is a joint public-private-initiative, established by 
the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan in 2003 with the aim to 
contribute to the economic development through attracting 
foreign  investments  in  the  non-oil  sectors  of  economy  and 
stimulating expansion of country’s exports of non-oil goods to 
the overseas markets.
AZPROMO  is  a  unique  body  in  Azerbaijan  that  operates  as 
a  “one-stop-shop”  for  assisting  and  advising  foreign-based 
companies interested in investigating and utilizing investment 
opportunities in Azerbaijan.
AZPROMO  is  a  devoted  partner  of  companies  established

Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) is the only source 
of reliable official state news for domestic and foreign mass 
media. Founded on March 1, 1920 AZERTAC has had its name 
changed several times. AZERTAC is producing – on a round 
the clock basis – accurate news in Azerbaijani, English, Russian, 
French, German, Arabian and Chinese languages. AZERTAC has 
its own video website and children’s knowledge portal.
AZERTAC maintains partnership with national news agencies 
of 45 countries. The agency is a member of the Organization 
of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), European Alliance of 
News Agencies, and News Agencies World Congress (NAWC). 
AZERTAC is one of the founders of ANIA, TKA and BSANNA. 
AZERTAC has its bureaus in 21 countries, and all regions across 
Azerbaijan.  The  16th  General  Assembly  of  OANA  and  5th 
NAWC will be held in Baku in 2016, and see AZERTAC take over 
chairmanship of these two organizations.

BP  operates  a  number  of  major  projects  in  the  Azerbaijan-
Georgia-Turkey  region.  These  include  the  Azeri-Chirag-
Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) oil field and the Shah Deniz gas and 
condensate field development, three export pipelines: Baku-
Tbilisi-Ceyhan,  South  Caucasus  Pipeline  and  Western  Route 
Export Pipeline, as well as Shallow Water Absheron Peninsular 
(SWAP) and Shafag-Asiman exploration projects.
ACG currently produces from six platforms. Shah Deniz gas 
and condensate are produced from one platform, a second  
platform will come on stream by the end of 2018. 
From offshore, oil and gas are transported to one of the world’s 
biggest  terminals  -  Sangachal  terminal,  which  is  located  to 
the south of Baku. From the terminal the hydrocarbons are 
exported to teh world markets through the three pipelines.
In Azerbaijan, BP employs more than 3100 professional staff. 
Some 87% of BP’s permanent professionals in Azerbaijan are 
nationals with many of them in senior leadership positions.
