The purpose of the Union of Religious Superiors of Women in the Holy Land, whose statutes were approved by the Holy See on September 18, 1993, is to:

• 
  Attend to the problems common to the various institutes of women present on the territory.
  
• 
  Develop fraternal contacts between these institutes in a spirit of mutual collaboration.
  
• 
  Foster collaboration between religious women and the hierarchy in the Church's pastoral activity.
  
• 
  Facilitate contacts between the religious institutes of women and various authorities.
  

Directed by a General President, the Union is divided into four regions, each one headed by a Regional President.
