7.3 Spraying
Figures 9 - 11
Remove the safety cap and switch on the device to Pos. II with the pump toggle switch
N. This fills the spraying line with spray product and generates the operating pressure
required for spraying. Pressing the actuation lever down on the quick closure valve J ini-
tiates the spraying process. This can be interrupted immediately by releasing the actua-
tion lever. The pump speed cannot be adjusted when the pump toggle switch N is in
Pos. II.
You can adjust the spraying pressure by switching the pump toggle switch N to Pos. I.
The spraying pressure at the nozzle is influenced by adjusting the rotary control knob P
for the pump speed. The pressure can be read off on the pressure gauge. The optimal
spraying pressure is always dependent on the nozzle used. This is between 2.0 and 3.0
bar.
Optimal distance between nozzle and object being sprayed is 40 - 50 cm.
CAUTION
Note wind direction! Do not spray into the wind. Ensure uniform wetting of the object
when spraying.
7.4 Information about the charge status display and the battery
Figure 12
Your device is equipped with a charge status display G which shows you the remaining
capacity of the battery at all times. The charge status display G consists of 5 displays [3 x LED
green], [1 x LED yellow], [1 x LED red].
3 x LED green
2 x LED green
1 x LED green
1 x LED yellow
1 x LED red

immediately
As soon as you notice during spraying that an operating pressure of 2 bar is no longer
being achieved, or that the yellow LED is lit up, the battery should be charged.
The device also issues a warning sound when the red LED lights up. This means that you
should switch off the pump IMMEDIATELY and charge the battery for at least 3 hours
(see also Chapter „Charging the battery“).
ATTENTION
Complete discharge of the battery must be avoided as this can damage the battery.

7.5 Storing the knapsack sprayer correctly
It is essential that you also follow the“Safety instructions for handling the
charger and battery“ in Chapter “Important safety instructions”.
ATTENTION
The battery should not be stored uncharged. Though self discharge is minimal, an empty
battery can be destroyed if stored for an extended period. Thus, observe the following
instructions if not in use for an extended period (e.g. during winter):
Store the battery in a charged state.
Store the battery in a dry, elevated, closed, frost-protected location at a temperature
between 0 °C and + 45 °C. When the storage temperature is +15 °C, self-discharge and
chemical ageing is at its lowest. Avoid direct sunlight.
If the battery is not used for more than 3 months, it should be recharged.

Shutting down
8.1 Emptying
Figures 13 - 14
Do not dispose of residues in the drains, but dilute 1:10 and spread over vegetation.
Clean the device and hose system thoroughly with water after each use (rinse several
times), actuating the pump and actuation lever on the quick closure valve several times
whilst doing so. Collect the discharge and apply as described above diluted 1:10 onto
vegetation. Leave the device to dry opened, hanging it up if possible with the opening
facing downwards.
8.2 Maintenance
Cleaning the sieve tube in the quick closure valve
CAUTION
You may be exposed to hazards that could injure you when cleaning the sieve tube.
Wear safety gloves and protective clothing, if necessary.
Switch off the device.
Completely depressurise the hose line by pulling the actuation lever on the quick
closure valve, even if the device is empty, and dispose of any remaining liquid in the
system onto vegetation.
The sealing ring in the container cap and all other moving parts must be regularly
greased with grease that is free or resin and acids.
Only use original spare parts for repairs.
Repairs must be carried out by a service point.
Unscrew the hose connection from the quick closure valve and remove from the quick clo-
sure valve with the sieve. Unscrew the sieve tube from the hose connection and wash
thoroughly with water. Mount in reverse sequence after cleaning. Hand-tighten all screw
connections.

Checking the nozzles
Nozzles blocked or clogged. Check the following at least every two months:
Fill the device with water and spray into a container for 1 minute at a pressure of 2 bar.
Weigh the output water quantity and compare the value with the value given in the table
above.
Max. deviation +/- 10 %
Deviation > -10 %: Clean nozzle / clean filter
Deviation > +10 %: Replace nozzle
8.3 Storage
Figure 15
CAUTION
Switch off the device.
You may be exposed to hazards that could injure you when handling the device and the
pesticides. You must therefore store the device and the pesticides away from children.
Empty and clean the device as described in the Chapters Emptying and Maintenance.
Loosen the container cap – Clip spray lance onto the spray lance holder – Put on safety
cap – Store the device without pressure and frost-free.
