quantitative and qualitative research is an approach, the relevant
literature is examined in which research models evolve. In this context,
it can be said that there is a method problem in the field of foreign
language teaching. Therefore, this research is thought to be important
regarding giving an idea about the method problem in the field of foreign
languages and directing the research to be conducted within the
framework of the right methods and approaches. When study groups of
researches are examined, most of them are the participants of
postgraduate thesis researchers of teacher candidates. As a means of
data collection, research was mostly used in the questionnaires. When
the distribution of the most commonly used data collection tools in the
post-graduate theses related to the use of technology in foreign language
teaching, which is one of the sub-aims of the research, is examined, it is
thought that a spectrum is provided about the types of data collection
tools used in this field studies.
As a result, it is thought that the technology to be used in foreign
language teaching should be well identified, named and categorized in
the studies to be done in this field while using technology in foreign
language teaching. In this context, the research method in which the
research process, in general, is designed should be directly proportional
to the technology used and the intended teaching objectives. In our
graduate thesis studies conducted in our country, it is seen that the
technology is not well defined. So much so, technology is a top concept,
and under this concept are tools such as computers, tablets, CDs, and
DVDs. It is even a "blackboard" based technology. Therefore, it is
considered that this research will contribute to the related literature
regarding the identification and evaluation of the studies carried out in
this area.
