The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that the results of a comparative formal structural analysis of English and Uzbek construction terminology were obtained, the semantic features of English and Uzbek words and the features of the evolutionary development of this set of terms as a semantic field were determined.
The methods of formal-structural analysis of vocabulary, synchronous semantic description of vocabulary, descriptive-comparative method were used in the work.
The theoretical significance of the work lies in the fact that the similarities and differences between the English and Uzbek construction vocabulary, identified in the process of multidimensional analysis in synchronic and diachronic terms, taking into account extralinguistic factors, made it possible to determine the specifics of the development of special vocabulary in these languages. The results of the research carried out can contribute to the further determination of the ways and causes of the divergence of national systems of representations, the determination of the general and specific in the development of knowledge representation systems in the languages under consideration.
The practical significance of this study lies in the possibility of using the data obtained in the practice of teaching English and translating texts on this topic, as educational material for a special course on terminology, as well as in clarifying interlingual correspondences of terms. No less important is the fact that the results of this study can be used to solve one of the most important and topical terminological problems in the translation of scientific and technical literature.
