1.2. The place of terminology in the lexical system of the language

The rapid development of science and technology, to achieve scientific and technological progress contribute to the emergence of special words for about - the value of new objects, phenomena and processes. There were special words become an integral part of everyday life and WMO - DYT of the specialized professionals picture of the world that verbalized by terminology. As noted by A.B. Superanskaya, N.V. Podolskaya and N.V. Vasilyeva, "... terminology as a set of terms is part of the special vocabulary"¹⁹. Terminology is the most dynamic and flexible lexical subsystem of the language. Studies of terminology sometimes have a historical orientation, showing how terminology arises, develops and changes over time, depending on the development of the corresponding sciences, the general style of thinking of the era and the reference sphere²⁰.

In modern linguistic literature, you can find a large number of definitions of terminology, which indicates an increased interest in this problem and indicates different approaches to its study.

In our study, we tried to identify the general characteristics of terminological systems, as well as the differences through which it seems possible to differentiate them.

So, for example A.B. Superanskaya, N.V. Podolskaya, N.V. Vasiliev is attributed several meanings to the word "terminology":

1)  a collection or some indefinite set of terms - words in general;

2)   a set of terms (concepts and names) of any particular branch of knowledge (construction terminology, medical terminology);

3)  the doctrine of the formation, composition and functioning of terms in general;

4) the doctrine of the formation, composition and functioning of the terms of a particular branch of knowledge used in a particular language, and their equivalents in other languages;

5)  general terminological doctrine²¹.

Based on these definitions, we can say that the first two definitions imply a system of concepts of a certain branch of knowledge, and in the next three, the concept of "terminology" correlates with the science of the system of concepts. Thus, we can differentiate the existing definitions of terminology into two groups:

1) a set of terms, concepts and names;

2)  the doctrine of the formation of term elements, concepts and names.
