It is noteworthy that in the corpus of construction terminology there are many intersections with common vocabulary, which indicates the presence of homonyms in it. The analysis of the material made it possible to conclude that the share of homonyms in construction terminology was 35%. JIE data has moved into construction terminology through terminology. This tendency is expressed in various forms that receive support in the conditions of our social life. Far-reaching ramification of sciences, production, differentiation of labor, etc. caused the needs of precise qualifications and convenient nomination of a separate act or phenomenon. The "transformation" of words into special units is most often based on metaphorical (based on various kinds of similarity: form, type, quality, function of structure, structure, associations) or metonymic (based on spatial contiguity of objects, on temporal contiguity) transfer⁶⁰. So, for example, "face" in construction has the meaning of "cladding, decoration, facade", i.e. this lexeme has passed into construction terminology based on the similarity of associations.
