Model f0 – „no fit function" ("on line")
Advanced analysis methods are available only in ANALYZE module. The use
mathematical library (Tukan.dll) containing set of procedures which fit the
model's parameters to the experimental data. 
All fits return parameters of fitting functions with  Chi^2 and  Chi^2 per degree of
freedom errors and calculate peak parameters such as Fwhm, Fwtm, full area
under the peak and others.
The implemented version of the library uses six models of peak fitting functions.
These models contain data fitting algorithms for a single or double peak Gauss
function and other functions described below.
Model f1 
– „Gauss and polynomial"
  - single peak fitting by Gauss function with
polynomial background. Depending on a degree of polynomial, model is
described by a symbol: f1_1, f1_2 or f1_3
Model f2
 – „Gauss and Fermi"
 – single peak fitting by Gauss function with
background defined as Fermi function

Program configuration
Program configuration contains: general style of modules view, the spectra
display and default parameters for mathematical analysis and peak identification.
For the storage of the chosen parameters and screen appearance setup,
Windows Registry is used; therefore, the program can always start at the same
state as it was shut down.
Therefore, acquisition path settings, display and analysis options, spectra
container contents, spectra display parameters and general screen appearance
parameters like size, color of a field below a spectrum, selected module, toolbars
position, current language version are saved in Windows Registry.
Process of loading/saving parameters from/to Windows Registry is performed
automatically during switching to other modules or at shutdown of the program.
Menu of each module contains "Configuration":

Choosing "Options" opens a dialog window with tabs allowing to set configuration
options of display and analysis

Language version of the program
The program can operate in either English or Polish. Switching between
languages can be done at any time be selecting Language radio button in
General tab of Configuration dialog box:
menu: Configuration | Options
tab: General - Language
Program will be closed after selecting the new language. One should execute it
again.
The program starts in the language which was used at the program exit.
Once changed, a new language setting is effective in all layers of the program:
on screen, in messages, in data tables.
Attention! 
 If program is built to one language version only, then panel  General -
Language  is empty.

Work with USB Protection Key
Program Tukan8k from version 1.70 works on computer with analyzer or with
USB Protection Key.
The Key works in Windows 2000/XP only.
This Key allows runing the program in "off-line" mode.  Program funcionality is
the same as when operating with an analyzer.

Hardware setup
The very base activity which every user should do is to define types of devices
which form concrete 
acquisition path
, which the user operates with. Usually it can
be performed once (the program stores settings) at least until a list of devices will
not be changed.
Watching current state, setting particular parameters of acquisition path and
performing controlling commands is possible only in HARDWARE module.
Running acquisition control commands is possible in HARDWARE and
