Program Tukan8k
Each main screen of a module consists of four constant elements:
modules selection panel which demonstrates which module is currently
selected
pulldown menu and toolbar which depends on a selected module
status line (placed on a very bottom of a window) displaying information about
the spectrum which is actually a
main spectrum
operational area of each module, which is divided into several panels
dedicated to certain functions.
Dedicated panels have their own toolbars and context menus (available after
clicking a right button of a mouse). Number of toolbars which appear on a screen
depends on a kind of panels implemented by the module. Position and order of
those toolbars can vary and may be changed by the user.
Program modules selection
2.2.1
Module selection can be performed either by clicking on an icon representing
selected module placed on module selection panel, or via the menu.
Selecting module from a list of modules:
menu: View | Go to...
Hide / show modules panel:
menu: View | Modules panel
Context menu, which is available on
modules selection panel (activated by
clicking right button on a mouse)
contains helpful commands. They
allow the user to change appearance
of the panel or to remove it
completely from a screen to make
additional space for the spectrum plot
panel.

Hardware module
2.2.2
Purpose:
definition of the devices creating acquisition path, setting values of all
parameters, filling descriptive options for acquisition path, full acquisition control.
Structure:
the main panel of the module contains separate fields, which define and describe
precisely acquisition path. All hardware parameters and descriptive fields are
configurable (unless read only) in appropriate dialog windows. Particular
parameter is accessible by clicking corresponding white bar on the main screen.
Acquisition control commands are available from toolbar icons, main module
menu or context menu of the acquisition control panel.
Functions:
MCS/MCA switching, setting values of all parameters, filling of descriptive fields,
acquisition start, stop and reset, automatic stop criteria selection and setting, full
control of acquisition progress

Analyzer module
2.2.3
Purpose:
acquisition control and visualization, initial spectrum analysis, saving to and
loading from files, spectra manipulation.
Structure:
acquisition control panel displaying current acquisition parameters and
experimental spectrum preview, spectrum plot panel, ROI (area laying between
markers, typically a peak) parameters panel, list of spectra loaded to memory
Functions:
modification of selected acquisition parameters: automatic acquisition stop
criteria, spectra displaying in channel and energy scale, visual comparison of
current acquisition with other spectra loaded from files, automatic or manual
defining of ROI regions, initial "on-line" spectrum analysis containing calculation
of the base parameters of a peak and nuclide identification, saving spectrum to a
file, loading spectrum from a file etc.

Calibration module
2.2.4
Purpose:
energy, peak shape and efficiency calibration run, controlling of the spectra
calibration
Structure:
the operational panel is divided into three parts: tabbed calibration data panel
with three tabs for three types of calibration, spectrum panel and ROI parameters
panelskład_widm_def. Panel of input data and result of calibration consist of a
table of calibration data, panel of a calibration curve equation and panel in which
a calibration function is displayed
Functions:
inserting and edition of calibration data, selection of a type of calibration
equation, calibration execution, visualization of the result – equation coefficients
and diagram of calibration curve, entering calibration parameters to a spectrum,
calibration display of the main spectrum

Purpose:
precise spectrum analysis, nuclide identification, creation of the peak table
Structure:
panel of a spectrum view, peak parameters panel, spectra container window that
lists of spectra for analysis
Functions:
automatic peak search, peak fitting with modified Gauss function, double peak
separation – selection of fitting function, nuclide identification based on selected
nuclide library, peak table edition.

Reports module
2.2.6
Purpose:
preparation and configuration of reports with: general spectra and acquisition
information, spectra plots and ROI table; report printing
Structure:
main panel with the main print preview, thumbnail preview panel, window with
zoom size, spectra container window
Functions:
configuaration of the raport contents: document structure, personalization of peak
table structure and spectrum figure, possibility of enter extra descriptions, report
printing - printer selection and additional printing option, saving report as HTML
file or text
