With this work, it was aimed to provide the opportunity for experts to
carry out the validity and reliability studies of Sexual Sadism, Sexual Masochism
and Fetishism Scales developed by Freund in 1982, and at the same time to
provide an opportunity for further research on this topic. The study was carried
out with 330 participants, aged between 21 and 55, with a majority of
undergraduates and graduates, 175 middle and high income women and 155
men. The vast majority of work data has been collected online. In order to
measure the reliability of the scale, it was applied to 150 people first and
Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficients were examined and the substance was
deduced accordingly. Subsequently, one-factor factor analysis and validity test
were applied to 330 people. In addition to this application, validity study was
performed by taking the Sexual Risk Taking Scale, which was filled in with
attendance, by looking at the relationship between the
scales and the correlation
analysis. As a result of all these analyzes, it was determined that the Scales of
Sexual Sadism, Sexual Masochism and Fetishism are related to the Sexual Risk
Scale as well as to each other in accordance with the literature. At the same time,
all three scales were reliable on their own. Finally, by t test and correlation
analyzes, the differences between demographic information and sexual sadism,
masochism and fetishism were analyzed. The results are discussed in the
discussion section.
