этот памятник самый древний храм, найденный на
Южном Кавказе. Кроме этого, последней новостью
является обнаруженный в Гошатепе клад XII века. В
книге нашло отражение научные исследования
образцов, состоящих из 273 медных монет, фотог-
рафий.
В третьей главе представлены читателю статьи
некоторых историков, занимающихся историей
Мугани, и легенда, связанная с Муганью. Думается, эта
книга будет интересна для читателей, они получат
сведения о Мугани, которое является частью
Азербайджана.
Конечно, лишь одной этой работой невозможно
исследование истории Мугани. Просто, думаем, что
наши исследования и информация могут быть
использованы будущими исследователями.
Когда писалась монография, я обращался к
историческим произведениям, архивным документам,
статьями
монографиям,
путевым
заметкам,
советовался с выдающимися историками, использовал
этнографические, исторические записи, побывал на
территории Мугани в Северном и Южном Азербайд-
жане. Собрал сведения о различных племенах и родах.
Одновременно не были забыты музеи, доставляющие
исторические факты и источники.

Dear reader “Mugan culture” which takes prominent
place in the history of Azerbaijan and in the world history
and territories including to this culture is studied by local
and foreign reslarchers, archaeologists but achievements
we need, are not still gained.
Hundreds of historical monuments of Mugan plain
have not been discovered yet and the place famous city of
Mugan, mentioned in the medieval centuries has not been
defined.
In thes book I tried to tell about Mugan region, its
historical background, population, ancient monuments,
culture and their occupation.
The book consists of 3 chapters. In the I chapter I
tried to tell about Mugan’s ancient and medieval ages.
And also the region’s geographical position and its
borders are shown here. Two geographical territories are
compared in this book. This book is not about the
territory,which was on the place bet ween the Girdman
river which is on the border of Qabala and the Goychay
river, it is about the south-east part of north Azerbaijan
and north – east part of south Azerbaijan and that place
was called Muganland at that time.

In this chapter we made researches a bout etnonims
and toponims of Mugan, relying upon about the city of
Mugan. Relying upon sources of medieval and eastern
scientists works, Mugan was an autonomous area and a
historical city. Accarding arabian sources Mugan was
surrounded by gardens and was situated on the Caspian
seashore, at a hundred kilometers from the river Kur,
between two rivers the Araz and the Kur, at the 60-70
(sixty – seventy) kilometers distance of Ardabil.
In the sources we tell about citedels,gloatinq rivers,
pastures, herbs, medicinal plants in this area. Researches
about information which were given in this book carried
out and we got the knowledge we need.
It is mentioned about contemporary history of
Mugan. Using Fond materials and written sources we
showed the period after Gulustan(1813) and Turkmenc-
hay(1828) treaties, Russia’s policy of deportation and
conflicts bet ween foreigners nd local population . About
new settlements – names of colonies, areas, cities and
villages are told in this book.
There is information about tribes, peoples who lived
in Mugan in XIX and XX centuries.
Most tribes living in this territory were Shahseven,
Dilagarda, Alar and Moran. I chapter ends with the
information next period of the cities and villages of
Mugan, its population, lifestyle, trade and craftsmanship
of people living there. At the end you will learn about
prominent people and their activities.

In the II chapter there is information about the city of
Jalilabad which is situated in the centre of Mugan. In this
chapter researches of well-known archaeologists
(I.Jafarzadeh, B.Qukasov, F. Mahmudov, T.Akhundov)
about ancient settlements Uzuntepe, Alikomektepe,
Misharchay, Alkhantepe, Polutepe and archaeological
discoveries, scientific articles and illustrations make the
book warth reading.
The most important information in this monoqraphu
is recent achievements of the city of Jalilabad. There were
found a lot of remains of animal bones, tools, plates
without paint, stones for making a fire, woman’s figure
about 9-10 (nine – ten) centimetres long, temple for
prayers, which are considered about Neolit age, during
researches. Accarding to the discoveries of the
archeoloqist T.Akhundov the temple is considered the last
holy place in the area.
One of the latest news is the treasure found in
Goshatepe and it belongs to the XII century. 273 (two
hundred seventy three) copper coins and other samples
and photos are given in this boon.
In the III chapter information about well-known
historians who made researches about Mugan and a
legend about Mugan are introduced to the readers.
To my opinion with the help of this book readers will
be interested in Mugan’s history which is the part of
Azerbaijan.
Of course, it is impossible to get much infotmation
about Mugan and the city of Mugan. Simply, this book
