THE MODERN PROBLEMS OF TURKOLOGY
93
There isn’t sufficient information about
the exact number of the Modern Turkic
people. It’s connected with some ethnic
events. For example, 1) the Turkmen, 2) the
Balkan Turks, 3) the Crimean Turks, 4) the
Chulum Tatars (and some Tatars) are accepted
as both the separate people and the component
of the Turkic people. It’s possible to come across
with such «intermediate ethnoses» among people
families. That event is connected with the nature
of all-ethnic processes. So that, the division of
nations (ethnoses) or the formation of new people
happens not in the mechanical form. The
differentiation process shows that, the quality
putting forward the leading or passionate
ethnic power or mass. But the remained
intermediate ethnic appearances become the
subject of dispute.
The Turks divided into different people
(nations) and displayed their own identity.
And all of them demand independence without
paying attention whether they are formed or
unformed… It’s such a natural assertion that,
it’s impossible to refuse it in spite of
answering political and ideological conflicts.
Because the independence emotions creating
from national self-consciousness are saint for
the formed ethnos (people).
Congresses holding by the Turkic people
with an unusual enthusiasm gained political
independence after the collapse of the most
giant «prison of nations» of the world – the
Soviet Union noted that, the Turkic World
should answer for such a question:
differentiation or integration?
Without any doubt, differentiation is the
first condition and historical modern reality as
well; but integration arises from co-existence,
dialogue and interaction need of both the
globalized world and the national, moral unity
ideals of the «Turkish brotherhood» and the
Turkic World.
It
seems
that,
differentiation
and
integration can be in contradiction with each
other only outwardly. But in reality these
global processes complete each other, create
harmony and define borders in the world.
The biggest political power in the Turkic
World is Turkey. It plays an active role in the
solution of inner problems and in the support
of international relations (authority!) of the
Turks. This attitude having any political aim
exerts influence on the political, economic and
cultural development of the Turkic World and
on the increase in the international reputation
of Turkey.
The Turkic World includes the following
problems:
1) common (uniformed) alphabet;
2) common communication tools (literary
language);
3) common historiography, etc.
Generally, these problems don’t have
only integrated content for the Turkic World.
They instigate both the independent, semi-
independent and non-independent Turkic
people to dialogue as well. One of the most
important features characterizing Modern
Turkology as a science consists of trying to
penetrate into political and ideological practice.
Turkology is less interested in abstract theoretical
problems, hypothesis, disputes, considerations
and academic manner. Therefore, unlike
previous periods Turkology is represented
namely by national specialists and personnel
in the general and special appearances, in fact
in the absolute majority. And considerations or
position of any foreign turkologist can’t be
considered as respected without crossing from
national ideological and intellectual appraisal
by experts.

Though, the
modern problems of
Turkology were raised by turkologists or non-
turkologists the solution of the same problem was
under the authority namely of specialists – i.e.

turkologists. Naturally, the modernity of the
problem is connected not only with its history
but actuality.
The solved problems of Turkology like
social, especially ethnological science from
any ideological or methodological point of
view may be considered to be unsolved after
the definite period. For example, though, the
Soviet Turkology had done much in its rich
history, it created some methodological
problems. It’s demanded to liquidate, i.e. to
discuss them in the context of normal
scientific and intellectual (and democratic)
thought.

TÜRKOLOGİYANIN MÜASİR PROBLEMLƏRİ
X ü l a s ə
1. Türkologiya bir elm olaraq XIX əsrin sonu – XX əsrin əvvəllərində formalaşsa da, türk
xalqları, yaxud ümumən türklər haqqındakı müxtəlif xarakterli məlumatlar, kifayət qədər qədim
dövrlərdən gəlir ki, türkologiya həmin məlumatlarsız, əlbəttə, mükəmməl bir elm kimi formalaşa
bilməzdi. Təxminən e.ə. I minilliyin ortalarında tarix səhnəsinə çıxmış türklərin həm Şərqdə,
həm də Qərbdə tanınıb öyrənilməsi uzun bir yol keçmişdir. Bu yola nəzər saldıqda görürük ki,
çoxsaylı mənbələrin verdiyi məlumatlar türklərin həyat tərzini, dilini və ya dillərini, tarixlərini,
2. Türkologiyanın müasir problemlərini aşağıdakı şəkildə qruplaşdırmaq və ya sistemləş-
dirmək mümkündür:
I. Türklərin mənşəyi və ya türk etnosunun təşəkkülü problemləri.
II. Türklərin diferensiasiyası və ya türk xalqlarının formalaşması problemləri.
III. Müasir türk dünyası: diferensiasiya və inteqrasiya problemləri.
Məqalədə həmin problemlər təhlil olunur.
Məsələn, sovet türkologiyası özünün kifayət qədər zəngin tarixində
həqiqətən möhtəşəm işlər görsə də, bir sıra metodoloji problemlər də yaratmışdır ki, onların
aradan qaldırılması, yəni yanlış (əsasən vulqar sosioloji) baxışların normal elmi-intellektual (və
demokratik) təfəkkür kontekstində müzakirəsi tələb olunur.
