edərək, bəzən çınqıl qatı üzərində qalaq formasın-
da görünməkdədir. Yuxarıda qeyd edilən kvadratın
mərkəz hissəsindəki divarlar saxlanılmaqla, qazıntı
davam etdirilmiş, 0.9-1.1 m dərinlikdə çınqıl qatına
təsadüf olunmuşdur. Çınqıl və onun üzərindəki qatda
şirli saxsı fraqmentlərinə nadir hallarda təsadüf olu-
nurdu. Bəzi yerlərdə çınqıl qatının dağıldığı və həmin
yerlərdə Son Antik (I-III əsrlər) dövrünə aid saxsı qab
və kirəmit (solen) fraqmentləri aşkar edildi (tablo I, 3).
Bundan əlavə, kvadratın mərkəz, şərq və qərb profilləri
dibində quyulara təsadüf olundu. Şərq (quyu N3) və
qərb (quyu N1) profilləri dibindəki quyuların yarısı
qazılmayan torpaq altında olduğundan onların qazın-
tısı bitməmişdir. Qərb profili dibindəki quyunun dia-
metri nisbətən kiçik (d=77 sm), lakin dərindir. Quyu-
Quyunun
içərisindən xeyli sayda heyvan sümükləri, kömür, şüşə
və saxsı, xüsusən də səhəng formalı saxsı qabların
fraqmentləri aşkar edildi. Bu quyudan heç bir şirli sax-
sı fraqmentinə təsadüf olunmadı.
Bəzi hallarda Antik dövr materiallarının ta-
pılması alt qatlarda məhz Antik dövr mədəni
təbəqəsinin varlığını ehtimal etməyə əsas verir.
Lakin mərkəzi hissədə aşkar olunan quyunun iç
divarlarına nəzər saldıqda burada yalnız qalın qat
çınqıllıq müşahidə edilməkdədir.
The excavation was continued preserving the walls
at the center of the above-mentioned square and a
gravel-stone layer was discovered at a depth of 0.9-
1.1 m. Fragments of glazed pottery were occasionally
found in the gravel-stone layer and in the layer over
it. The gravel-stone layer was destroyed in some parts
and Late Ancient pottery and tile fragments (the 1st-
3rd centuries) were found there (table I, 3). Also, wells
were found at the bottom of the center, the eastern and
western profiles of the square. Half of the wells at the
bottom of the eastern (well No.3) and western (well
No.1) profiles were under an unexcavated area. There-
fore, their excavation is not finished yet. The well’s
diametre (77 cm) at the bottom of the western profile is
small but deep. A gradual widening is observed direct-
ly to the bottom of the well. Glazed and unglazed pot-
tery fragments and bones were discovered inside the
well. The well’s diametre at the bottom of the eastern
profile is large and the hole of the well is enlarged dia-
metrically. There is probably another well in the bot-
tom layer and the two wells cross. The level at which
the digging of the wells started in the western and east-
ern parts was clearly seen in the profiles and therefore
the top layer and the general area’s ground level were
taken into equal account. Only the excavation of the
well (No. 2) which is situated in the center part, close
to the north bottom of the wall in the east-west direc-
tion, was completed. This well’s diametre is 157 cm
and the bottom is covered with a gravel-stone layer.
No signs of the well were discovered during excava-
tion of the upper layer. Therefore, it is supposed that
the well was dug from the gravel-stone layer. A lot of
animal bones, charcoal, glass, faience and especially
seheng-like dish (a jug with a long narrow neck) frag-
ments were found inside the well. No glazed faience
fragments were found inside the well.
It is supposed that there is an Ancient Period cul-
tural layer under the ground because during the exca-
vation some finds belong to the Ancient Period were
uncovered. However, the examination of the inner
walls of the well found in the center part revealed only
a thick gravel-stone layer.

iii kvadrat
Bu kvadrat 2-cinin qərbində yerləşir. Kvadrat
(biri yarımçıq, digəri isə dağınıq vəziyyətdə), biş-
miş kərpic və çaydaşı qalıqları qeydə alındı. Eni
50-60 sm, uzunluğu 2 m olan həmin qalıqlar 2-ci
kvadratda şərq-qərb istiqamətində uzanan divarın
qərb tərəfə olan pərakəndə vəziyyətdə davamıdır.
3-cü kvadratda yer səthindən 30-50 sm dərinlikdə
müxtəlif istiqamətlərə uzanan gil möhrədən tikil-
miş divar qalıqları aşkar olundu (planda III kv.).
Bu divar qalıqlarının izləri hələ qazılmamışdan qa-
baq torpağın rəngi və tərkibinə görə aydın seçilirdi
(şək.8). Qeyd olunan divarlar bəzi yerlərdə təndir və
quyular səbəbindən dağılmışdır. Divarların hazırki
vəziyyətdə eni 80 sm olmaqla şərq-qərb istiqamətinə
6.9 m, qərb istiqamətindən 3 m uzunluğunda cənuba
dönərək kvadratın cənub profili altına keçir. Diva-
Ya-
nıq qatı yer səthindən 70 sm dərinlikdə izlənilməklə,
kvadratın şimal-qərb hissəsinin bir çox yerlərində
eyni səviyyədədir. Döşəmə üzərində in situ
vəziyyətində üst hissələri dağılmış və üzərində tor-
paqla birlikdə iki ədəd bişmiş kərpic olan təsərrüfat
küpü aşkar olundu (şək.10). Küp bərpa olunduqdan
sonra, onun qabarıq gövdəli, yuxarı hissəsində verti-
kal vəziyyətdə ikiqulplu olması müəyyənləşdi (tablo
III, 6). Bu cür küplər IX-X əsrlər üçün səciyyəvidir.
square iii
This square is located to the west of the second
structure. The square slopes 20-32 cm downwards
towards the south-west. The relief was taken into ac-
count during the excavation of the upper layer. Two
copper coins were discovered during the removal of
the top 20 cm of mixed layer. In this layer, there were
two tandoors side-by-side (one destroyed and the
other half-preserved), baked clay bricks and pebbles.
The artifacts are 50-60 cm wide and 2 m long and are
loosely connected to the wall passing through square
II running from east to west. In square III, wall re-
mains made of clay were discovered at a depth of
30-50 cm from ground level (plan, square III). The
remains of these walls could be observed due to their
specific colour and content even before the excava-
tions (Fig.8). These walls were destroyed at some
points due to the wells and the tandoor. In the cur-
rent condition, these walls are 80 cm wide, and they
run 6.9 m from the east to the west, turn south and
run for another 3 m, entering underneath the south
of square III. A 3 m-long section connecting squares
III and VI was removed in order to study the wall
crossing under the southern part of the square. It
was discovered that the wall does not continue into
square VI because it was destroyed. The 3.3 meter-
long section of the wall running from east to west
is not well-preserved and is mixed. Other walls are
attached perpendicularly to the wall running from
north to south (Fig.9). A layer of burnt remains is ob-
served on the ground in the north-eastern part of the
square. The burnt level is almost equally at a depth
of 70 cm from the surface layer throughout many
parts of the north-east of the square. An agricultural
pot with a destroyed surface with soil and two baked
bricks were discovered on the floor (Fig.10). After
the pot was restored, it was discovered that it used
to have two vertically attached handles in the upper
section (table III, 6). These pots are characteristic of
the 9th-10th centuries.
Another hearth (tandoor?) was found on the west-
