Şimal-cənub istiqamətində olan divarın qərb
tərəfində torpağın üzərində bişmiş kərpiclərdən düzül-
müş və torpağın altına doğru genişlənən ocaq yeri də
(təndir?) qeydə alındı. Yeraltı qurulmuş bu ocaq yerinin
üst hissəsinin də döşəmə səviyyəsində olduğu görünür.
Kvadratın cənub-qərb hissəsində, gil möhrədən
olan tikilinin içərisində (şərqdən qərbə doğru olan di-
varla onun cənuba dönən divarın içərisində) diametri
0.95 m, dərinliyi 5.1 m olan quyu aşkar edildi. Quyu
yer səthindən 66 sm dərinlikdən başlayır. Quyunun 70
sm dərinliyindən 143 sm dərinliyinə qədər çaydaşı və
çınqıl qatı vardır. Çınqıl qatının qalınlığı 73 sm təşkil
edir. Çınqıllığın altından quyunun divarları boyu bərk
gilli qat izlənilməkdədir. Quyunun divarlarında dairəvi
və oval boşluqlar vardır ki, bu rahat düşüb-qalxmağı
təmin edirdi (plan 2). 14x16 sm ölçüdə olan boşluqlar
arasındakı məsafə əsasən 50 sm, bəzən isə 60-70 sm-
dir. 290-300 sm dərinlikdən xeyli sayda bişmiş kərpic
fraqmentləri, o cümlədən 12 ədəd bütöv kərpiclərə
təsadüf olundu. Kərpiclərin ölçüləri 25x25x5-6 sm,
25x25x6 sm, 24x24x6 sm-dir. Kərpiclər və onların
aşkar olunduğu dərinliyin torpağı kömür və küllüdür.
Quyu olduqca zəngin materialla müşahidə olunurdu.
Quyunun müxtəlif dərinliklərində xeyli sayda saxsı
fraqmentləri (tablo IV, 1,4,6), o cümlədən 2 ədəd yaşıl
şirli çıraq (tablo II, 7-8), altında qara mürəkkəblə monoq-
ram olan fayans kasa fraqmentləri aşkar olundu (tablo V,
1-3). Quyunun dib hissəsinə yaxın yerlərdə 4 ədəd ensiz
1) 8 x 21 x 1.3-1.5 sm
2) 4-5 x 25 x 1.6-2.5 sm
3) 6.5 x 18.5 x 1.2 sm
4) 6.5-8.5 x 20 x 1-2 sm
ern side of the north-south wall, built of baked bricks
entering the soil downwards. The surface part of the
hearth is level with the floor.
A well with a diametre of 0.95 m and a depth of
5.1 m was discovered in the south-west part of the
square, inside the clay structure which sits in-be-
tween the walls running east-west and the one which
turns south. The well starts at 66 cm below ground
level. Between 70-143 cm below ground level, grav-
el-stones and pebbles fill the well. The thickness
of the gravel-stone layer is 73 cm. At the bottom,
a gravel-stone layer, a dense clay layer is observed
along the walls of the well. There are round-shaped
cavities in the wall of the well to allow comfortable
entry into the well (plan 2). The distance between the
cavities, which measure 14x16 cm is 50 cm, reach-
ing 60-70 cm at some points. At a depth of 290-300
cm, numerous fragments of baked bricks and 12 ful-
ly preserved bricks were observed. The dimensions
of the bricks were 25x25x5-6 cm, 25x 25x6 cm and
24x24x6 cm. The soil at the level of the bricks dis-
covered contains ashes and charcoal. The well is rich
in artifacts. Numerous pottery fragments (table IV, 1,
4, 6) were discovered in several layers of the well,
including two green glazed decorated lamps (table
II, 7-8) and fragments of a faience bowl with writ-
ing on the bottom in dark ink (table V, 1-3). Close to
the bottom of the well, four narrow and long pebbles
were discovered, some of which were shaped narrow
on one side (Fig.11). Though their purpose is of in-
terest, it is assumed that they were used for the very
construction/digging of the well, or for shaping the
walls round in the bottom layers of the well, since
the dimensions of the scars in the bottom layer of the
well match the dimensions of the pebbles discovered
(Fig.12). These scars are 5-10 cm wide, 18-21 cm
long, while the dimensions of the pebbles assumed
to have been used as tools are as follows:
1)
8x21x1.3-1.5 cm;
2)
4-5x25x1.6-2.5 cm;
3)
6.5x18.5x1.2 cm;
4)
6.5-8.5x20x1-2 cm.

Quyunun müvəqqəti su ehtiyatı saxlamaq üçün
nəzərdə tutulmasını ehtimal etmək olar. Quyu və gil
möhrə divar həmdövr olmaqla, aşkar edilmiş mate-
riallara əsasən gil möhrədən olan tikilinin X əsrin
sonlarına aid edilməsi mümkündür.
iv kvadrat
Bu kvadrat 2-ci kvadratın şimalında yerləşməklə,
olduqca zəngin və maraqlı tapıntılarla müşahidə olun-
du. Kvadratın mərkəz hissəsində sanitar qurğu aşkar
olundu. 7 növ ölçüdə bişmiş kərpiclərdən işlənmiş qur-
ğu şimal-cənub istiqamətlərindən mərkəzə doğru maili
olmaqla, mərkəz hissəsində suyun axıdılması üçün ka-
nalizasiyası da vardır (şək.13). Xatırladaq ki, sanitar-gi-
giyenik qurğunun çirkab suları axıdılması üçün nəzərdə
tutulan hissəsi bu günümüzə qədər öz funksiyasını
itirməmişdir. Qeyd edilən qurğunun şimalında puç daş-
dan yonulmuş iki ədəd sütunaltlığı da aşkar edildi. Sütu-
naltlıqlarından biri iki pilləli hazırlanmışdır. Kvadratın
cənub kənarına yaxın yerində mətbəx və təsərrüfat yeri
aşkar edildi. Burada bir cərgədə bişmiş kərpiclərdən
qurulmuş ocaq yeri qeydə alındı. Ocaq yeri yanaki qo-
lub. Ocaq yeri şərqdən divarla əhatə olunub ki, şimala
doğru istiqaməti qazılmayan yerə düşür. Ocaq yerindən
qərbə doğru, kvadratın cənub-qərb dibində 2.1 m
dərinliyi olan quyu aşkarlandı. Quyunun içərisində dü-
şüb qalxmaq üçün nəzərdə tutulan ayaq yerləri də var-
dır (plan 3). Quyu şirsiz və şirli saxsı qabları və onların
fraqmentləri ilə müşahidə olundu (şək.15). Ocaq yeri
və quyu 2-ci kvadratın şimal hissəsində aşkar olunmuş
ensiz divar və təndirlə əlaqəli olmaqla bir kompleksə
aiddir. Digər maraq doğuran tapıntılardan biri də kvad-
ratın şimal kənarında şərq-qərb boyu 9 m uzunluğunda
It is assumed that the well was used for tempo-
rary water storage. On the basis of the materials dis-
covered from the well, the clay walls and the overall
structure of the well, we can assume the structure
belongs to the late 10th century.
square iv
This square is located to the north of the second
square and is rich in interesting artifacts. At the center,
a sanitary structure was discovered. Built with seven
different kinds of baked bricks, this structure contains
a sewer mechanism which is downward sloping from
the north to the south and there is a sewer used for the
flow of water at the center (Fig.13). It is worth men-
tioning that this structure, the purpose of which is to
remove waste water, is still functioning as at the day of
discovery. To the north of the structure, two hewn stone
column bases were discovered. One of them is tiered.
A kitchen area and a place used for domestic and ag-
ricultural purposes were discovered close to the south
corner of the square. There is a single row of baked
bricks forming a hearth in three separate square-shaped
chambers. Below, there are trivets used for placing
pots after cooking (Fig.14). The flooring in front of the
structure was made of raw brick and clay. There is a
shallow well at the other end of the floor, containing
ash and charcoal, and it is supposed that it was used for
keeping the burnt waste after cooking. The hearth is
surrounded by a wall on the east side.
A well 2.1 m deep was discovered towards the west,
at the bottom of the south-west part of the square. There
are special footholds allowing entry to and exit from
the well (plan 3). There are various glazed and un-
glazed clay dishes and their fragments inside the well
(Fig.15). The hearth and well are related to the narrow
wall and tandoor at the north of the square and together
they form a unit.
Another interesting discovery is the water pipes
made of clay which are interconnected in a perpendic-
ular manner. They start in the north-eastern part of the
square and run to the west side (Fig.16). All the pipes
