Hill- Hills are not as high as mountains.

Path- a route or track between one place and another. E.g. They followed the path until they came to a gate.

Field- an area of land, used for growing crops or keeping animals. E.g. The field was planted with citrus trees.

Wood- forest. E.g. We went for a walk in the woods after lunch.

Village- a group of houses and other buildings that is smaller than a town, usually in the countryside. E.g. The whole village came out for the parade.

Cottage- small house in a village or the countryside. E.g., My friend lives in a cottage.

Nature - everything in the natural world’. (= animals, birds, plants, etc.). e.g., The nature of this village is quite beautiful.

A conservation area- place where wildlife and nature are protected. E.g., Near the village there is a conservation area.

Wildlife - animals, birds, fish, and insects. E.g., There is wonderful wildlife in the north of the country.

A national park- very big national conservation area. E.g., In the south of the country, there is a national park.

Ex-wife- is a woman who is now divorced.

A half-hour journey- is a journey of 30 minutes.

Informal clothes- are clothes like jeans and trainers. (opp. Formal)

Impossible- you cannot do it. E.g., It’s impossible to read with your eyes closed.

To redo- is to do it a second time. E.g., She decided to redo the paint job because she didn't like the color.

To rewrite - is to write it a second time. E.g., I'll rewrite sentences you want to change
