Hayat›n› Anadolu’nun do¤usunda ö¤rencilerine
adam›fl, idealleri u¤runa ailesinin sevgisinden
bile vazgeçmifl emekli ö¤retmen Nâz›m, ‹stanbul’a
döner. Emekli maafl› ba¤lan›ncaya kadar yak›n
dostunun taksisinde çal›flmaktan baflka çare bulamaz.
Bir gün müflteri olarak Dünya’y› al›r taksisine. ‹nsan
sarraf›, hayat›n tokad›n› defalarca yemifl, ç›lg›n eski
kocas›ndan küçük k›z›yla kaç›p ‹stanbul’da bir pavyonda
çal›flmaya bafllayan, on üç yafl›ndan beri yapayaln›z
Dünya, yüzüne bakt›¤› zaman k›zaran bu efendi insana
güvenir. Nâz›m, kad›n› her gece pavyona getirip
götürmeye bafllar; ta ki Dünya’n›n belal›s›, gözü kara
Halil pavyonu basana, ortal›¤› da¤›t›p eski kar›s›n›n
yaralanmas›na neden olana kadar. Bitkin ve kimsesiz
Dünya, olaylar yüzünden pavyondan kovulup ortada
kal›nca, Nâz›m kad›na kucak açar… Oyunculu¤a
bafllad›¤› 1966 y›l›na kadar ö¤retmenlik yapan fiener fien,
yine bir eski ö¤retmen olan Nâz›m’› özel bir duyarl›l›kla
canland›r›yor. Tak›nt›l› eski koca Halil’i canland›ran
Timuçin Esen ise beyazperdede yeni bir yüz. Kad›n
dünyas›na genifl aç›dan bakan Gönül Yaras›, Yavuz
Turgul sinemas›n›n çokça temel ald›¤› “de¤iflim” ve
“dönüfl” temalar›n› benimsiyor ve bu yönüyle Muhsin
Bey, Zü¤ürt A¤a, Aflk Filmlerinin Unutulmaz Yönetmeni ve
tabii Eflk›ya ile benzerlikler gösteriyor.
Ret›red teacher Nâz›m, returns to h›s hometown
‹stanbul after long years of teach›ng ›n the
desolate towns of eastern Turkey, hav›ng
sacr›f›ced even the love of h›s fam›ly.
He has
nothing else to do except for work as a taxi driver.
One night, she takes Dünya as a customer. Dünya, a
good judge of character, gone through a world full of
events, is a lonely woman who has escaped from her
domineering husband with her daughter, and started to
work as a singer at night clubs. She trusts this
gentleman of a taxi driver, and he begins to drive her to
the club and back, until the madman sociopath Halil,
Dünya’s ex storms the club and causes her to be
injured. When Dünya is fired from her night job at the
joint, exhausted and with nobody to turn to, Nâz›m
fosters her… Being a teacher until 1966 when he first
took up acting, fiener fien contributes his role with a
special sensibility. Timuçin Esen as the obsessed 
ex-husband is a newcomer to the silver screen, off from
TV series. With an approach through a wide perspective
on the universe of women, Lovelorn adopts themes
such as “transformation” and “return” that are
frequently used in Yavuz Turgul’s cinema, and
accordingly, shows some similarities to Muhsin Bey,
Zü€ürt A€a, Unforgettable Director of Love Movies and
naturally Eflk›ya / The Bandit.

Haflmet Asilkan, 60’l› ve 70’li y›llardaki Yeflilçam
furyas›nda say›s›z aflk filmine imza atm›fl bir
yönetmendir. Ama flimdi, 80’lerin yerinde sayan Türk
sinemas›n›n zaman›d›r. Gururlu bir adam olan, yapt›¤›
ifli (ve belki de kendisini) inan›lmaz ciddiye alan
Haflmet, eski güzel günlere dönmek ister. Ve kendisini,
bu de¤iflen koflullara göre de¤iflmeye haz›rlar. Bunun
için son kurflunlar›n› kullanacak, her türlü imkân›
seferber edecek ve bir baflyap›t çekecektir. Sosyal içerikli
bir senaryo yazar. Tam alt› ay boyunca. Ancak bunun için
Türkiye’de ne zaman do¤rudur ne de birlikte yola ç›kt›¤›
insanlar iflini onun kadar ciddiye al›r. Kadere ve de¤iflime
direniflin ard›ndan gelen y›k›m, yine de içinde bir umut
bar›nd›r›yor, t›pk› Muhsin Bey’de ve Gönül Yaras›’nda
oldu¤u gibi. Aflk Filmlerinin Unutulmaz Yönetmeni,

Yeflilçam gelene¤ini inkâr eden bir Yeflilçam
yönetmeninin politik film yapma çabas›n› yerer.
Alçakgönüllü bir komedi olmas›na ra¤men bu film,
döneminin ruhunu yakalad› ve de¤iflimin olumsuz
yanlar›n› baz› unutulmaz sahne ve diyaloglarla Türk
sinema tarihine yazd›.
Haflmet Asilkan ›s a d›rector that has made qu›te a
lot of romances dur›ng the Yeflilçam explos›on of
the 60s and 70s
. But now, it’s the 80s, a period when
the Turkish cinema is at a standstill. Haflmet, a proud
man who takes his work –and perhaps himself– much
too seriously, longs for the old times. And he prepares
to change himself according to these changing
conditions. He’s ready to go broke, to utilize all his
remaining resources to make a masterpiece. He writes
a socially conscious script for a full 6 months. But it is
neither the right time for this in Turkey, nor the people
whom he had set out together with take the work as
seriously as he does. However, the destruction that
follows resistance to fate and change still embodies
some sort of hope, just like it did in Muhsin Bey and
Gönül Yaras› / Lovelorn. 
The Unforgettable Director of
Love Movies looks with disapproval on the attempts of a
Yeflilçam director who denies the Yeflilçam tradition
and tries to make a political film in order to keep in
step with rising trends. Though a modest comedy, the
film had captured the spirit of the period, and recorded
the negative aspects of change in the history of Turkish
cinema with some memorable scenes and dialogue.
