Activity 5. Developing criteria 
Materials: flipcharts and markers.
Divide the class into two groups.
Say: 
“Now you are going to elaborate criteria for the 
tasks­you’ve­just­completed­in­Activity­4”.
Say: 
“One group’s going to write criteria of assess
-
ment­for­the­first­task,­the­second­group’s­going­to­write­
criteria of assessment for the second task that was 
drawing one.“ 
Remind the participants that they have to consider 
the age, level and cultural peculiarities of the pupils. 
Give groups 5 minutes.
In 5 minutes, ask them to present their criteria in 
front of the whole class.
Accept any comments from another group. 
Conclude the activity by saying that criteria can be 
taken and adapted from different websites with ready-
made rubrics, i.e., http://rubistar.4teachers.org/ and 
many others. 
Activity 6. Wrap-up
Materials: board, markers
Draw the table on the board:
What I knew 
about assess-
ment
What I have 
learned about 
assessment
What I still want 
to know about 
assessment
Ask the participants to think and fill in the table.
Conclude the session that in the next session, they 
we will discuss assessment for learning approach in 
more detail.
