Measurement
Name „Acquisition" can be changed at anytime, (in
Information window
), can
be saved to a file containing experimental data but will be lost after next program
execution.
Copy of the spectrum may be left on the spectra container after the end of
measurement and saving spectrum to a disk. It is managed by options from the
tab "General" of the "Configuration" window (see
Program configuration
)

Displaying 'live' spectrum
3.8.2
„Live" is such a spectrum which contains experimental data actually being
collected. If not changed by the user, the program names it „Acquisition" and
places it on a list of spectra in
spectra container
. This spectrum does not
have to be displayed on a screen but is always seen in live spectrum preview
window placed on a bottom of acquisition parameters panel available in
HARDWARE and ANALYZER modules.
Experimental data collection process can be watched on a screen only in
ANALYZER module – data refresh is done in 1 sec. periods. In the rest of
modules, acquisition spectrum is treated similiary to all other spectra loaded.
After switching to ANALYZER or CALIBRATION module, the program passes to
them acquisition spectrum as it was at the moment of switching between the
modules. Experimental data can be refreshed anytime by running „refresh
measurement spectrum data" command.
„Refresh" command can be run by clicking an icon placed on
list of referenced

On-line analysis
3.8.3
„Live” spectrum
displayed in ANALYZER module is in a way automatically
analyzed. The program, after every data refresh, calculates current number of
counts in channels placed between the markers and performs peak analysis
displaying results in peak parameters panel; it allows the user to observe flow
and value of width of peak at half height. Peak parameters are calculated based
on „direct" method.
„On-line” peak parameters calculation
During acquisition the user can mark ROIs on acquisition spectrum and can run
automatic peak search command.
Performing calibration and more advanced spectrum analysis is possible after
switching to CALIBRATION and ANALYSIS modules. In such a case commands
are performed on experimental data latched for a moment of module switching.
Calibration results can be passed to acquisition spectrum and be saved with
experimental data. The analysis results can not be saved.

Time backup of acquisition data
To protect against lost of experimental data (e.g. in case of power failure) the
program can automatically, in preset periods, save acquisition spectrum to a file.
Defining options for acquisition time backup:
menu Configuration | Acquisition time backup
Enable saving - when checked, it assures, that the program, in preset periods
defined in Backup rate field, will automatically (i.e. without the user activity) save
actually collected spectrum to a file with a name given in Spectrum file name
field.
The file containing acquisition time backup can be created earlier, but if does not
exist the program creates itself. By default, backup file is created in the main
folder of the program and is named „Tuk.wdm" (or "Tuk.wds" in MCS mode of

work) .
Each copy to separate file: -  when checked, actual spectrum will be saved to
different files at each rate of time. Names of those files consist of base spectrum
file name followed by sequential number.
Note:   By default, this option is not checked, so acquisition time backup is
always saved to the same file which contents is overwritten every time.

Configuration options of measurement
Measurement configuration options can be preset in 'Measurement' tab sheet of
'Configuration' dialog box activated via the main menu of the program:
menu Configuration | Options... | Measurement
System sounds:
End of acquisition signaling: - by default, this option is not checked
ACQUISITION spectrum saving option:
Always ask for saving the spectrum when exit program: - by default, this
option is checked
By default, next two options are not checked.

Multi-channel scaling (MCS) mode
Changing mode of running from pulse height analysis (MCA) mode to
multi-channel scaling (MCS) mode is possible only then when the analyzer card
has implemented that mode. In another case, line "Mode of running" in
Measurement menu of HARDWARE module is hidden.

Analyzer parameters in MCS mode
After switching to MCS mode of running the contents of acquisition parameters
panel changes its appearance. The dialog windows are also changed to fit
properties of another mode of running but general control of acquisition and
described earlier rules of work with experimental spectra stay the same..
