Edwardsville. The purpose of the grant was to develop new curriculum and courses for undergraduate 

education in professional development schools.

School of Education Executive Secretary:  August 2011 to July 2012.  Conduct all School of Education faculty   

    meetings, attend SOE executive meetings, and conduct  elections.  

 

School of Education Committees 

* Graduate NCATE Program Director-Literacy: August 2005 to Present.  Write and submit NCATE Reports.  

Write and Submit SPA Reports to the International Reading Association. Develop assessment system for 

all graduate programs.  Wrote Literacy Program Review Report (August 2011) 

 *Graduate NCATE Program Director-Reading: May 2004-July 2005. Align Graduate Literacy Program with the 

SOE Conceptual framework and a benchmarked assessment system. This committee changed from 

reading to literacy.  

* P-12 Graduate Working Group: Spring 2006-Present.  Planned development, recruitment and retention of 

graduate students.  Develop and implement plan for SAGE grant money from the graduate school.  

  SOE Facilities Space Committee: Fall 2011-Spring 2012.  Discuss classroom, office and clinical space and 

develop plans for improvement.  

* Dean of Education Review: Spring 2008 and Spring 2009.Survey and Report on Dean Bergeron’s first year.  

* Professional Affairs Committee: Member Aug. 2005-May 2010.  Chair, Aug. 2006-May 2007 and Aug. 2009-

May 2010. Rewrite Professional Affairs Committee section of operating papers, hear tenure and 

promotion grievances.    

* Diversity Education Project Committee: August 2005-May 2009. 

  SIUE Award for Excellence in Teaching Committee: Spring 2004 Read teacher applications and developed a 

rubric for evaluating them.   

* Reading Center/ Instructional Materials Center Committee: Aug. 2004- May 2006. To better utilize the 

resources for the School of Education, faculty met to develop a plan for space and resource allocation.  I 

created a faculty survey to determine the needs of the collective departments and worked on a proposed 

redesign plan and organization of resources.  

* Library Liaison: Ordered library materials based on faculty requests and need.  We have been able to obtain 

significantly more math and science resources and other current educational journals, books and videos, 

Fall 1999-Spring 2007, Fall 2008-Spring 2009
