ABSTRACT
Despite the fact that Karabakh is the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh
and 7 adjacent administrative regions (Lachin, Kalbajar, Gubadli, Zangilan,
Jabrayil, Aghdam
(district center and most of the territory), Fuzuli (district center and most of the territory) were
occupied by Armenia in 1989-1993. As a result, historical and cultural monuments and
infrastructure of the region were completely destroyed. There are about 880 settlements, 695
hospitals, 150 thousand
buildings and apartments, 927 libraries, theaters, 67 mosques, palaces,
temples, tombs, etc. destroyed or burned. The transport infrastructure of the region has been
completely destroyed: hundreds of bridges (160), 2670 kilometers of roads, 693 schools and 855
kindergartens have fallen into disrepair. The irrigation system, which was hundreds of kilometers
long, was completely destroyed.
A working group specializing in the situation in the conflict countries estimated the damage
caused by the occupation of 20% of the Azerbaijani territories by Armenia at $ 820 billion.
As
a result of the occupation, the entire material and technical base for new buildings was
destroyed, and the planned projects were not implemented. Industrial areas operating in the
occupied territories occupied an important place in the economy of the Republic. Food and light
industry enterprises, building materials enterprises prevailed here.
More than 310 industrial and construction facilities remain in the occupied regions of Armenia. In
these enterprises, 11 percent of complementary materials
produced in Azerbaijan, 11 percent of
shoe production, 25.2 percent of butter production, 35 percent of wine materials, 13.5 percent of
raw silk production, 15 percent of mineral water, etc.he was producing.
Today, the total value of Mineral Resources recorded in the period before the occupation of
Nagorno-Karabakh is estimated at about 50 billion Manats. According
to the latest visual
observations of” azercosmos " OJSC, significant changes in the relief have been observed there.
Observations show that enough work has been done in the fields. This can be seen in pictures
taken from space. But this is only visual information. Monitoring and evaluation will be carried
out there in the near future.
The products of the mining industry, which were illegally mined in the occupied territories
without observing environmental norms, were supplied to Armenia as raw materials, processed at
factories, and then exported as raw materials or semi-finished products.
For
almost thirty years, the territories of Azerbaijan under Armenian occupation were actively
used for illegal activities. At present, the damage caused by Armenia during the years of
occupation is being calculated, and the “road map” of the project has already been drawn up.
The mobilization of the economic potential of these territories can make a significant contribution
to the creation of a large number of new jobs that create high
added value in the country, the
