KINGDOM OF SPAIN: "THE STATE OF AUTONOMİES"
The Kingdom of Spain is a unitary state for its structure and a constitutional monarchy for
its form of governance. The country's 1978 Constitution recognizes the right of autonomy “nations
and regions”. This provision is the basis of the Spanish territorial organization. So that, all 17
regions included in the administrative territory of the country have an autonomous status. Spain has
given this status to its regions on two principles: national-regional and administrative autonomy.
Seven regions (Andalusia, Basque Country, Canary Islands, Catalonia, Galicia, Navarra, Valencia)
